During the sugar reset we focus mostly on obvious and added sugars.
This is things like desserts, sweets, and treats.
This can also include sugary beverages such as full sugar sodas, sports drinks, fruit juices, and sweetened teas and coffees.
You are always welcome to take a look at the Nutrition Label of any food to determine if you want to include it in the sugar reset. Nutrition labels now include the total number of sugars, as well as specifically added sugars.
You are welcome to use artificial sweeteners if you wish, in things like tea or coffee. We do suggest staying away from "sugar free" or "diet" versions of sweet and treats foods.
Part of the sugar reset is lessening the body's reliance on sugar, which is not accomplished as well if we're replacing treats with sugar free versions. You are free to have diet soda or artificially sweetened sparkling waters, etc., but we recommend having these in moderation.
Though things like honey, maple syrup and agave are natural, they are still almost pure sugar, so we would recommend not using them during the sugar reset - if you are adding them into anything, like tea, this would be considered added sugar.
You are still welcome to have items like fruit and carbs (bread, pasta, etc.) with your meals when you're at a Level 3.
